• DirectPlay not found — Currently required for classic games. The PGN Client detects it and helps you enable it. A built-in replacement is in development (coming soon).
• Firewall blocking connections — If you cannot connect to other players, make sure the PGN Client is allowed through your firewall. Check both Windows Defender Firewall and any third-party security software.
• NAT / router issues — PGN includes built-in NAT traversal, but some strict NAT configurations may require port forwarding. The client will show your NAT type and suggest steps if needed.
• Game not launching — Ensure you have a legitimate copy of the game installed. Some older titles may need compatibility mode — the PGN Client will suggest settings for known games.
